Shannon Rogers Paintings

In the painting, Greenpoint Relay Station, Rogers carefully observes an ordinary industrial street scene, and fills a large canvas with warm and cool colors, creating an immensely fascinating composition. Shannon pays attention to details, then lets his imagination create images conveying light and space - using only what's essential and leaving out what's not.

Shannon's artisitic life began here in Arkansas, drawing dusty cars at Buffalo River float trips and painting landscape scenes around the Little Rock area. Shannon received formal training at The International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture in Ubria, Italy in 2007. In 2008, Shannon received his Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree from the School of Art Institute of Chicago. In 2011, he received his Masters of Fine Arts Degree from the New York Studio School. In 2012, Rogers was listed in Oxford American's "Top 100 Under 100 - New Superstars of Southern Art." After serving as Adjuct Professor of Drawing at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR and Adjuct Professor of Painting and Drawing at Hendrix University in Conway, AR, Rogers moved to Oakland California to pursue a career in fine art and joined the Firehouse Art Collective.

Take a closer look at Shannon Roger's paintings. Shannon is a draftsman. But, he doesn't add details that aren't necessary to the feeling of the painting. His compositions are smart yet unexpected. Shannon has a clear command of color. But, he often starves his pallete to compose in low-light values. Shannon Rogers is a professional artist on the rise. His paintings are increasing in value as his work is being collected. At Matt McLeod Fine Art Gallery, we have several large, colorful, if slightly abstract canvases that would be a perfect addition to a downtown loft or contemporary office. We also have several affordable landscapes, including a lovely skyline of Downtown Litlte Rock and the Arkansas River that would be perfect for the right riverfront home or business.  Come see Shannon Rogers work this Friday night at Second Friday Art Night. The paintings are tastefully contemporary, elegant and priced for collecting.

We get you. We understand people who need to live with fine art. We're that way too.
